Website

It seems like I have been waiting for this day forever, but finally, after much anticipation, my website went live today! Do I need to tell you how excited I am? I have been working on this for the past 2 months and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I was like a kid at Christmas calling everyone I know this afternoon to tell them the news. Aside from some minor glitches with Shaw, everything went off without a hitch. I want to thank everyone for all their support over the past few months, especially Vera for all her advice, creative suggestions and tolerance of my poopy attitude during the late night work sessions.

I am very excited to hear what you think, so please comment on this post or shoot me an email with your thoughts. Here comes the plug: please feel free to tell everyone you know and forward them the link to the site. Word of mouth, especially on the web, is VERY powerful and if you know of anyone that is in need of a photographer, please give them my contact info. I think I mentioned somewhere that I will shoot anything - have camera, will travel!

Thanks again everyone for your support and continue to visit my blog and website for updates. If you really want to stay current, feel free to RSS feed the site.

Been A While

It may have been a long road so far, but the the scenery along the way is just amazing.

As the title states, it's been a while since my last post:( I have been very busy doing everything that is involved in starting a new business: licensing , setting up a website, taking business and photography courses, purchasing and learning how to use new equipment . . . the list goes on. I am in no way complaining, but it has distracted me from staying true to my goal of weekly posts on the blog. Well, no time like the present to start up again, so here goes.

I guess a quick update is in order so bare with me as I trudge along. As I mentioned above, I have been working on my website for about a month now and I am very close to going live . . . WHOO HOO! I am so excited to have my own little spot on the web to share my passion with the world. Stay tuned, I should be up and running withing the next week. I now have my official logo and I want to sent out a very big THANK YOU to Marina Kovacic, a very talented graphic designer who exceeded my expectations and designed the perfect logo, as seen on the top of my blog.

I have just completed another Photoshop course and have enrolled for the advanced class in the photography program at NAIT. I can't tell you what a blast it was sitting in a class with 15 other photographers exploring the vast possibilities of Photoshop and sharing best practices over the 5 week course. Over the next few months I plan on taking a total of 5 more courses in an effort to complete the NAIT certificate program in photography which will help nurture my natural skills and take them to the next level.

Last Friday I purchased all new equipment: a camera, 3 lenses, a couple of flashes, and a bunch of other gadgets to help me capture great images. I spent all weekend getting familiar with the new hardware, basically building a new house with all new tools. Let me tell ya, I am just amazed with how crisp the shots are and these are just test shots. Vera, my wife, had to draw the line though, when I started to shoot at the dinner table! That reminds me, I haven't made the introductions yet. I am married to an amazing gal named Vera and I have 4 super great kids: Blake, Meghan, Izidora, and Adam, all of whom are very supportive in my new path and are all darn fine models if I do say so myself! You can see for yourself how photogenic they are in previous and future posts as well on the website once it is up and running.

Well, that's it for the recap - now time to do some business. Even though the website isn't live yet, I am already booking dates for this summer. The last weekend of July and the first two weekends of August are already booked, but there are still dates open in the spring months, July, and in the fall. If you are planning a wedding or event during that time, give me a call to discuss my availability and the packages that I offer. I don't have a mission statement yet but my committment to you is to provide you with amazing images that truly capture the memories of the day, that tell the story of who you are.

Thanks for visiting and watch for future posts - no, really I mean it - no more Mr. Slow Posts!
